Overview

Yu Zhong is a Ph.D. candidate in the Bioinformatics program at Indiana University. His research focuses on developing computational and machine learning methods for single-cell and spatial omics, with a particular interest in understanding cellular organization and spatial context in complex tissues. Prior to joining Indiana University, he was a Ph.D. student at Brown University before transferring to pursue his research interests in spatial omics. He received his bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics from the University of Liverpool and his master’s degree in bioinformatics from Boston University. His current work focuses on developing foundation models for spatial-omics data to characterize cellular organization, interactions, and tissue structure.
